YouTube player
The live video is hosted by YouTube. We load the player only after you choose to, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Once loaded, YouTube may set cookies and process data under Google’s privacy policy. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage and can be cleared at any time.
What we collect
This site has no accounts of its own and no forms. We use privacy-respecting, aggregate site analytics. Nothing you do on this site is sent to the systems that produce the show.
Viewer count
The “watching” number counts the browsers that have the live page open right now. It is a running count of open connections; nothing about you is stored.
Likes and Google sign-in
Anyone can see likes. Sending them is optional and needs a Google sign-in, which keeps the count honest. Google’s sign-in script loads only when you tap the like button while signed out, and Google then processes data under its own privacy policy. We receive a token from Google, check it, and keep only an anonymous ID derived from your Google account ID. We never keep your name, email address or photo.
The anonymous ID sits in one cookie (efm_session, 30 days, used only for likes) so the site can limit how fast each person can like. We don’t record who liked what or when, only the running total. To end the session on this browser:
Tips on Ko-fi
Tips are handled entirely by Ko-fi and its payment providers under Ko-fi’s own privacy policy; this site never sees your card or PayPal details. When a tip comes in, Ko-fi tells us the amount and, only if you left your support public, your Ko-fi display name. We show that to people on the live page for a few seconds (“Jo tipped $5”); private tips show as “Someone”. That pop-up stays on this site and never appears on the broadcast.
Public tips also count toward the “Top supporters” board, which ranks display names by the total they have tipped and shows each supporter’s latest message. For that we keep each tip’s amount and date and, for public tips only, the display name and message. A message appears only after an automated AI check run by the studio has passed it: the message text alone (not your name or email address) goes to the studio and its AI model provider for that check, and messages it flags are never shown. We never keep your email address, and the message of a private tip is discarded. To be taken off the board or have a message removed, email us with the display name you tipped under.
Between topics the broadcast itself shows the top of that board for a few seconds: rank, display name and total, without messages. That part of the live stream is public on YouTube and may stay in its recordings. Before a display name goes on air, the studio puts it through the same kind of automated AI check (the name alone goes to its AI model provider); a name that doesn’t pass, or hasn’t been checked yet, airs as “Anonymous supporter”.
